Candesartan is used to treat high blood pressure in adults and children aged 1-16 years, reducing the risk of stroke and heart attack. It is also used to treat heart failure (moderate to severe stages), where it helps lower the risk of death from heart disease and reduces hospital admissions.

Do not use candesartan if you are allergic to it or any ingredients in this medication. Do not combine candesartan with aliskiren if you have diabetes.
