Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in adults and certain pediatric patients. It is used for skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, abdominal infections, infectious diarrhea, typhoid fever, gonorrhea, anthrax exposure, plague, chronic prostate infections, and lower respiratory tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

Do not use ciprofloxacin if you are allergic to it or other quinolone antibiotics. Do not take ciprofloxacin together with tizanidine, as this combination can cause dangerous interactions.
