esomeprazole

Esomeprazole is used to treat erosive esophagitis (damage to the food pipe from acid) and to maintain healing in adults and children 12 years and older. It relieves heartburn and other symptoms of acid reflux disease. In adults, it also reduces the risk of stomach ulcers caused by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Do not use esomeprazole if you are allergic to it or to any related compounds in the benzimidazole family, or to any ingredient in the medicine. Allergic reactions can include severe swelling, difficulty breathing, or kidney inflammation.
