This medication is used to treat severe acne with large inflamed bumps (5 mm or larger) that have not responded to other treatments, including antibiotics. It is prescribed only for patients aged 12 and older with serious cases, as it can cause significant side effects. If a second course is needed, at least two months should pass between treatments.
Do not use this medication if you are pregnant, as it can cause severe birth defects. Do not use if you are allergic to isotretinoin, vitamin A, or any ingredients in this medication.
