This medication lowers blood pressure in adults and children 6 years and older, reducing the risk of stroke and heart attack. It is also used to treat heart failure by reducing hospitalizations and to lower the risk of death after a heart attack in patients with heart pumping problems.

Do not use this medication if you are allergic to valsartan, amlodipine, or any other ingredient. Do not combine this medication with aliskiren if you have diabetes.
